Ignata Finance are delighted to be exclusively representing a global consumer brand, based a short distance outside of London, to recruit a European Tax Specialist. This is a newly created position, which is a result of the company's success and expansion into a new channel of trading. This role will allow you to work remotely up to 50% of the time.

In this role, you will oversee the VAT processes and procedures for the new channel across the EMEA region, so knowledge and experience of European VAT is crucial. The ideal candidate will have worked in a retail/consumer business and have particularly experience of B2C trading. SOX compliance and documentation will also be a key responsibility for this position.

Job Responsibilities

* Advise and communicate effectively with internal EMEA stakeholders on new processes and how they will be affected from a VAT perspective
* Provide domestic income tax guidance and direction to internal stakeholders
* Manage the preparation of all quarterly estimated tax payments and support the income tax return audits
* Manage the timely preparation of consolidated income tax returns
* Manage the preparation of and review the budgeting and forecasting of tax accounts as well as account analysis
* Support research and documenting of tax implications for various entities
* Review tax legislation, changes in tax rulings and regulations

Experience and qualifications required:

* Qualified accountant, ideally with a practice background
* Retail/FMCG experience, particularly B2C
* Strong European VAT knowledge
* Ability to influence senior management and build strong relationships
* Strong Microsoft Excel and financial systems experience
* Ability to apply the tax laws to specific situations
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Good negotiation skills, decision-making skills and problem-solving skills

Location: Greater London with remote working available for up to 50% of the week

Salary: £60k-£70k DOE plus benefits
