A global market leading Electronics Company, they give their consumers a wide range of products and solutions which are largely based on revolutionary precision technologies. Specialising in image products and optics, they specialise in making cameras, measurement instruments, spotting scopes and many more products which have made them the force that they are today. They have consistently set the standards when it came to product design and performance, and they are forever expanding and are looking to expand even more in 2019.
As a Commercial Planning Manager you will be tasked with creating and delivering the strategy for the camera business with the full ownership of the sales plan, promotions, distribution and pricing. It will be key for you to have a clear idea of how to drive development within strategy and this will include creating and articulating a product portfolio strategy which is based on the consumer, market and retailer insight. Coinciding with that, you will do the same with the products in your category whilst making sure that the category performance is up to standard and you will have a commercial understanding in how to control costs within your agreed P&L.
Additionally, you will have the responsibility to make sure NPD is managed from start to finish and make sure you initiate the process when it comes to bringing new products to market. With the budget you are given, it is key for you to have frequent reports about your category performance and this should be liaised with the sales, marketing, product management and retail buyers and planning teams.
What you need to possess?
In order to be suitable in this role you will need to have a solid background within the FMCG space and this should be combined with solid commercial experience and understanding of the role itself. You must be strong analytically due to the complexity of the role and you must possess the ability to assimilate and manipulate data. Coinciding with this, you must possess excellent written and verbal communication skill says you will be articulating ideas and decisions consistently in this role.
You must be an influential person with a personal and approachable style, this will reflect on how easy it is for you to build rapport and build strong relationships both internally and externally with stakeholders. An interest in the consumer electronics market will be beneficial due to the product range in the role and you must be open to occasion travel within Europe for the company.
